I don’t often give myself a weekend off, sometimes it just happens … luckily enough when this couple contacted me earlier in the week hoping for a photo session on the weekend I was free.

Some things are just meant to be … like the way I met my husband when I was going to leave the night club early but just HAD to stay for some reason; or when I’m frantically running late to then bump into an old friend, when if I was on time I wouldn’t have seen them at all; or when I walk into a shop with one thing on my mind and end up walking out with something else that I love even more; or when I’m having a free weekend and one family is only in the state for a few days and desperately want a photo session. Some things are just meant to be.

Andrew and Natasha brought their gorgeous 6  month old daughter Lyla over Bass Strait to Tassie to spend some time with family.  While they were here we met up for some quick snaps at the Botanical Gardens. I loved how they just swooned over little Lyla, like she was the sunshine in their day … I mean who would blame them, seriously, isn’t she sooooo adorable?!

This latest blog post from me comes in the form of a cute little boy. And when said cute boy smiles, he smiles so sweetly … with DIMPLES! A photographers heaven.

I can’t figure out which category to put this session into: family, child, newborn. All of the above! It was honestly like 3 sessions in one, I just keep shooting and shooting and couldn’t stop.

I also can’t figure out which photos I should blog … so I will just put most of them up. Ha! It’s a tough job when you have a hard time culling photos down to the limited amount! Although I have to admit, if that’s the hardest part of my job, then I love it!!

This gorgeous family was a dream to work with. The cutest little girl with beautiful blonde curls, the most polite manners and a cheeky grin to boot … a gorgeous 6 week old boy, with twinkley eyes and squishable cheeks … and two proud parents, with nothing but love for their sweet little family! I most seriously DO have the BEST job. Ever.

This next set of photos, well they almost speak for themselves, but I just have to tell you how sweet the moment actually was! While giving her little brother a cuddle, big sister Olivia sang to him. Yes! So soft and so tender, he lapped it up as much as he could … you can tell already she is going to look after him wonderfully!

Veronika, that is. I had the pleasure of meeting her last year for a photosession just before Christmas, you can view the session here.

This time she bought her whole family along for a session. I had a whole bundle of fun following her kooky but cute brothers around and capturing her family interact with nothing but love for each other … But I have to admit the highlight of my day was scoring this next shot of Veronika with the biggest expression of joy on her face. It’s what my job is all about and I love it.

Please keep Veronika in your thoughts and prayers, just last week she was admitted into ICU for becoming very very sick too quickly. She is on the mend now but any extra love/prayers/positive vibes are always needed.

I think this next shot is my favourite family photo of the day. Happy faces enjoying each others company, what more could you want?

I sincerly apologise for my lack of blog posts these last few weeks. We have recently moved house and I’ve only just now had a chance to sit down and catch up on things. It’s been a massive big few weeks let me tell you that much, I get exhausted just thinking back on it. Phew.

A few weeks ago I met gorgeous little Camila, at her fresh age of 2 weeks. Everybody say Naaaawwwww. She is just simply beautiful and you can see where her good looks come from, check out her amazing Mummy. Who, by the way, along with Daddy are doing the most wonderful job with her already. I just love it how parents are soooo in-love with their babies, such an incredible feeling for me to see the new bond develop in full force so often.

Without any more chatter from me and my soft mooshy heart, here is Camila and her proud parents.

It was my pleasure to photograph this sweet little family the other day. They travelled down from Victoria for a Christening and while they were here for their short visit, they decided to squeeze in a photo session with me! How awesome is that!

I just love it when I get families that just relax and interact with each other as if I wasn’t there. The real smiles and sparkly eyes are what any photographer would strive for, well I do anyway. And once more, I have sooo many favourites I couldn’t cut down the ones to blog …

Miss C is divine, just check out those innocent wide eyes and infectious smile … I mean you can’t help but smile when you see that big grin right?!

It’s Winter and it’s cold, but with a dose of good luck you still get beautiful days for photos. And let’s face it, life is too quick and unexpected to hold off taking snaps because it’s “too cold” – that’s not a “hire me” line, it’s a “get-out-there-and-snap-piccies-of-yourself-and-family-because-life-is-precious-and-kiddies-grow-up-wayyyyy-too-fast” line.

I took the Loenneker family down to Sandy Bay beach for their family session. Three gorgeous girls, so little and sweet. I had such a lovely time watching them interact and just really enjoy each others company. Too me that is what capturing families is all about, the love shared.

Be warned, it’s a big blog post, I have a lot of favourites, it kind of happens when the family is just too darn awesome.

After the family session, a little friend (little Ella with the heart lollipop a few posts down) joined them for a cupcake feast! Thanks to Clare Michelle for supplying the most scrummy chocolate cupcakes with strawberry icing, mmm mmm mmm.

Some of you may remember sweet EllaBella from last year. View her session from September here. For those who don’t know, she is currently in treatment for Leukaemia at only 2 years of age. I am happy to report though, that she is doing swimmingly well!

I had such fun just before sunset with Ella and her super Mum- chasing her around the beach, listening to her chatter away, and watching her play with the cute little umbrella I bought especially for the session.

I’m having a hard time choosing favourites from this session, so am going to have a larger share than normal … enjoy.

This next photo, well, it touches my core … and to be completely honest as I was processing this particular photo I had to fight back the tears. I can’t really explain why I love it so much. It might be the fact that she looks so innocent, sweet and so so tiny sitting on the rock; or it might be because she is holding the lollipop heart right there – right on her heart. It speaks to me no matter what it is.

Meet sweet Master C. He’s only a fresh little thing in this world and oooh so adorable. When I showed up at the location, I was in Heaven. Autumn leaves everywhere! YAY.

This session was a lot like life, you never can tell when a normally happy baby decides to have an off day. Poor little guy just couldn’t get settled for us. I called it the “pressure” of being a gorgeous model. hehe. But never the less, I ALWAYS ALWAYS strive my hardest to get the shots that are desired. Even though the smiles were few and far between, those beautiful big eyes shon through and showed us the true nature of a child … innocence and purity. LOOOOOVE.

Not quite sure why single Mums don’t get more credit for what they do, every one I have met are the most giving and selfless women I know. I mean, doing it ALL on their own, what a responsibility.

Beck is no exception – and I think she is exceptional! Three girls, 5 years old and under. One word – WOW!

We kind of knew from the get-go a complete traditional family portrait would be pretty much out of the question. But who wants that anyway? I mean the girls are teeny tiny cute and extremely full of spirit, I was just happy to capture their gorgeous personalities.

I hope you like what we got Beck, you are doing an amazing job and should be sooo proud of yourself, you only have to look at the sparkle in their eyes to know it.
