Let It Rain – Part One

November 28, 2009

Today I met Megan and her 3 brothers, for a different kind of family shoot. No parents! The idea is, to get photos for presents for the parents. Really lovely isn’t it? And that’s exactly what this family was … really lovely. It’s so nice to see siblings with a strong bond like these guys.

We met at Salamanca and it soooo would’ve been the perfect shoot … if it wasn’t for the rain. And when I say rain, I mean *unforgiving*!  Not only was I worried about my 3rd baby (my camera if anyone was wondering) everyone was drenched, which with not much convincing, we decided wouldn’t quite make the appealing photos they were hoping for. So that is why this is “Part One”, the next half of the session is held off until tomorrow.

But without any more ramble from me, here are a few shots we managed to get in before the weather decided to “let it rain”!

Burgess Family

November 22, 2009

I loved todays session – and not just because of the fact I only had to travel 5 minutes instead of the usual hour – this family was so easy to shoot. It didn’t take long before I had a winner already.

Sammy is a friend of mine and isn’t her family just adorable?! What a great job of mine to be able to capture these moments, smiles and sweet twinkles in eyes. *sigh* I love my job!

Here is Caleb … cheeky, fun and full of life. Caleb is my son Joel’s buddy – they play so great together and are fabulous friends. When I was processing these photos he says “That’s my friend Caleb … I love him!” So cute.

And here is Georgie, almost one year old. How beautiful are her big blue eyes, she is such a doll.

I’d like you to meet Veronika, the gorgeous 18 month old I had the pleasure of photographing today. The little sweetheart has Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy but is one of the happiest little girls I have ever met. She was so easy to photograph and is just a bright ray of sunshine.

I had a wonderful morning with Veronika and her lovely lovely Mum, here is a small preview of our session today.

On a warm Sunday …

November 9, 2009

… I met three more gorgeous children.  I spent my Sunday with the wonderful Thomas children. They were all full of smiles and fun, I had a blast with this friendly bunch.

First we have the pretty Georgia. Softly spoken but full of life and giggles.IMG_1877 blog

Oliver, outgoing, energetic and welcoming. Such a bright spark. IMG_1756 blog

And sweet Nicholas, check out his most heart warming smile and cheeky eyes. IMG_1967 5X5 blog

And somehow managed to find these gems in our attempts for a shot of all three together! 3kids blog

McDonald Family

November 8, 2009

Yesterday I had the pleasure in photographing a young family with three gorgeous, spirited girls.

We had the eldest, Caitlin (with lovely big blue eyes), who for the last posed shot became my “art director”. She was very good at organising everyone into their specific spots, a great leader in the making! IMG_1505 blog

Then we have the middle child, Olivia … what a spark. She is never without a gorgeous smile on her face and never with her shoes on her feet! The adventurer and explorer of the bunch. IMG_1541 blog

Then last but not least we have the littlest one, Eliza, Miss Independent. Who totally reminded me of my 2 year old. Not happy unless she is doing it on her own! So completely adorable and cute. IMG_1596 blog

And here is the whole lovely family … I enjoyed spending the morning with you all, hope you like the results. IMG_1573 blog

This session was more Christmassy at least. Some more suitable options for my Christmas Card … what do you think of these ones?

And an outtake!!! IMG_1386 blog

I’m undecided.

I got my boys organised for a photoshoot in hopes of getting something lovely for our Christmas Cards.

I love their faces, poses etc … I think it’s the clothes that has me thinking. I want something plain but in red white or green, for obvious Christmas reasons. haha! But the only clothes they have, well, have patterns. So distracting. Maybe it’s the fact that they don’t look at all Christmassy.

Will share anyway … am thinking of a re-shoot, what do you think? Might have to go on a small shopping spree.
